Content and aim of the study

A nasal spray with a novel combination of ingredients will be tested in comparison to the single compounds or a placebo (dummy preparation) nasal spray.

You are randomly assigned (like rolling the dice) to one of the four experimental groups.Only every 7th patient receives the nasal spray without active ingredient.

The study is carried out in a blinded fashion. This means that neither your doctor nor you as the patient know whether you are receiving one of the active substance preparations or placebo.
The aim of the study is to assess the effectiveness in relieving the sudden onset of viral rhinosinusitis.

Start and the duration of the study

Start and the duration of the study

The study will start in winter 2022/2023 and your participation will last for 12 days.

During the study period, you will document your rhinitis symptoms twice a day in an electronic diary. You will be invited for check-ups.

You will be reimbursed for expenses and travel costs at the end of your participation.
